This morning on the way to school the boys were yelling about whose turn it was to talk, each wanting desperately to tell me something. I told West he could go first. He took a deep breath and said, "Carpet cleaner!"
"All right, thank you West. And what did you want to say Cash?"
"I have a tree for my woodpecker."
Great. I'm glad you boys could that off your chests.

Cash was sick with a little stomach bug today. He seemed fine this morning and cheerfully built this train out of his blocks.

By late afternoon, his energy was waning. He decided that laying on the landing of the staircase was the best place to watch TV and drug a couch pillow and blanket up there. I asked him repeatedly if he wouldn't be more comfortable on the couch. I even offered to carry him down to the couch if he was too tired to make it down the stairs. He opted to remain on the landing. Here's a picture of our living room to give you a feel for where he was relative to the television:

The television is in the armoire on the left. Cash and his blanket are the blue lump in the upper right hand corner. The pathetic close-up:

My church held a wonderful, moving interfaith World AIDS Day service tonight and it made the local news (sorry about the ad – I can’t get it out):

I didn't any pictures of our Thanksgiving turkey this year! If I don't watch it, I'm going to get fired from this blog. Here are Cash and the lizard at the head of our Thanksgiving dinner table:

We didn't have a chair high enough for the lizard to sit on so he had to sit on the scratching post. Cash told me several times throughout Thanksgiving Day that "the lizard is in charge of everything". Then where was that stinkin' lizard when I got up to put the turkey in at 6:30am? He really wasn't any help at all.

Cash's school Thanksgiving Feast was Monday and West's was Tuesday. Before the Feasts, the classes sing a few Thanksgiving songs for the parents. Cash did great! For the first time ever, he actually sang and did all the movements. I was so proud of my normally shy little guy.

West's performance at his Feast was an exact repeat of Cash's Thanksgiving Feast performance when Cash was in the two-year old class. West came out with his class, looked around, saw me, burst into tears and ran for me. I managed to get a picture before he saw me.

Cash told Travis he wanted to do "something new" after dinner tonight. So Travis pulled out our Toddler Play book and he and Cash flipped through it and decided to make megaphones. Wonder why Mommy stayed upstairs folding laundry most of the time the boys were yelling – er, I mean singing, the ABC song through their handcrafted megaphones?

The lizard made a megaphone too.
I slept wrong last night and pulled a muscle in my back. I went to the chiropractor this morning but it still really hurts. So when West wanted me to read his nap-time story on the floor instead of in his bed, I told him that I couldn't get on the floor because my back hurt. He told me, "I can't get on the bed because MY back hurts." Little stinker.

Cash dressed his rubber lizard up for a night on the town and took him with us dishwasher shopping and then to dinner at Pizza Shoppe.

As you can see, the lizard is wearing Cars underpants and a cowboy
boot. He also has a sock on his tail, which is hidden in the boot and
when we went outside, Cash made sure he had his coat (one of Travis's
socks) and hat on. The underwear is a wee bit big on the poor lizard so
it peeking out from the boot just a smidge. After a long evening of appliance shopping and dinner out, it was straight to bed for the lizard.

Cash dressed the lizard in a pull-up to protect the rug from any night time accidents, monkey jammies, a Spiderman slipper to keep his tail warm and a Moe Doodlebop wig. Not really sure what the wig is for.

Remember how Daddy was nice enough to teach Cash his first swear word? Well, just when I thought Cash had completely forgotten about it, it rears it's ugly head yet again. In public of course. Cash and I met several of my friends in a local scrapbooking store this morning, where I also am friendly with the owners. Cash was helping me look for a particular shade of green cardstock. He brought me a piece that was too dark so I told him to put it back. "Fock!" he shouted good-naturedly, as one of the owners looked at me like, "Did your sweet, fresh-faced four-year old just say what I thought he said?"
"Remember, we don't say that word Cash," I told him as I ducked my head in embarrassment, hoping none of my friends heard him. "It's okay Mommy," he reassured me. "That word is just Spanish for 'Oh Man!'" No, I really don't think it is sweetie.
