Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy
Turning one year old and loving his birthday cake
Two-year old cowboy
Three years old and already looking so grown-up
What a handsome four year old
Five years old and ready to rock

Trying to get a picture of the boys with their summer haircuts:
West loves his baby and does such a good job caring for him. So sweet.
This photo was before West's summer haircut. Now he and his baby almost look like twins.
After months of being good for babysitters, Cash finally filled up his lizard chart and earned a real-life lizard – a leopard gecko.
Cash insisted on naming him Travis. I tried to explain to him that it could get pretty confusing. How will we know if someone is talking about the gecko or Daddy? Cash is confident that it won't be a problem. I don't think Daddy Travis is seeing being the lizard's namesake as an honor. I didn't realize that when you get a gecko, you really get two kinds of pets in one. We are also now the proud owners of 48 crickets. They have their own habitat and food. Of course they are here on more of a temporary basis.
The gecko was a little shell shocked after the car ride home in what was basically a butter tub with holes punched in the top (you would think PetSmart would have something a little more high-tech for you to transport your pet home in) and being screeched at by two very excited little boys. Cash read him a little story to help him calm down.
Cash hasn't left his side since we've been home.
My mom's birthday is Thursday so I asked the boys what we should get Grandma for her birthday.
Cash: I think we should get her a sword!
Me: What would Grandma do with a sword?
West: Fight bad guys?
Me: I don't think Grandma fights bad guys.
Cash: How about a soccer set?
Me: Does Grandma play soccer?
Cash: Well, she would if she had a soccer set!
Grandma sure is lucky to have such thoughtful grandsons.
One of West's birthday presents from MaMaw and Granddad was a slip-n-slide. It was perfect for the 100 degree weather on Saturday afternoon.
In honor of my baby's third birthday, a photo retrospective:
In Mommy's tummy
Coming home from the hospital
Three Months – fat and happy
One Year Old – still a little chunker
Two Years Old – skinny with crazy hair
Three Years Old – where'd my baby go?? Happy birthday sweet boy.
West had his 3rd birthday party today. It's hard to believe my baby is going to be three tomorrow. Check out West's new summer haircut – his own grandma didn't recognize him when she first arrived at the party!
Here are the close-ups of his cakes. The Goofy cake is a discontinued Wilton pan from the 70s. The Mickey cake is my own design.
Cash lost his first tooth the natural way this morning. It's been loose for several days and he finally had enough and yanked it out. You may recall he lost a tooth last fall, but I'm counting this as his first since the other time involved blunt force trauma.
I was worried that the boys would wear me out this summer so I planned A LOT of fun activities. So far we've gone to at least one, sometimes two or three places a day. I think I'm wearing THEM out.
West woke up from a 2 1/2 hour afternoon nap, went in Cash's room and crouched on the floor to get a toy from under the train table. Two minutes later he had fallen asleep!
