The whole family went to Macy’s tonight to help Mommy find a dress for my friend Mitra’s ordination tomorrow afternoon. Travis took the boys on an extended tour of the furniture department so I could look for a dress in peace. I took my choices into the closest dressing room, which was a huge family dressing room. From the dressing room with the door closed, I could hear the very LOUD chatter of an excited little boy. I opened the door and looked out and of course it was Cash. He was about 50 yards away chattering up a storm about everything he saw in the store. He hasn’t really gotten the concept of an "inside voice" down yet. I waved to Travis and he and the boys came into the dressing room so Travis could help me decide between two dresses. The dresses had tank top straps and built-in bras so I took my bra off to try them on. Cash grabbed both my boobs and asked in his NOT-so-inside voice, "What are these Mommy?" I told them that they were Mommy’s breasts. "What do they do?" he yelled. I explained to him that they are for feeding babies. "Can I see your breasteses Daddy?" he yelled, turning towards Travis. Travis reluctantly lifted up his shirt. "YOUR BREASTESES ARE SMALL DADDY AND MOMMY’S BREASTESES ARE BIG!!" Cash yelled with delight. I think that the entire first floor of Macy’s could hear him, but I don’t know for sure since I couldn’t look anyone in the eye as we departed the dressing room.
We headed to the shoe department next so I could pick out shoes for my dress. The shoes are right next to the hats:

We all survived the ordeal and I actually picked out a dress and matching shoes in under an hour. A new personal best!
Cash was watching a TV show that had a giant on it this morning and he asked me what a giant was. I told him it was a really big person. He got very excited and said, "You mean like Daddy?"
Cash started a little 3-week T-ball program on Monday. He had a great time. I was a little worried before he went because Travis has been trying to teach him how to play in the backyard and he was having none of it. His first "game" is Wednesday, the 14th. If any grandparents or friends reading out there want to come to a game just let me know and I’ll give you the details. Look how grown up he looks out on the ball field:

West’s favorite phrase is "I do it." He wants to do EVERYTHING all by himself. Every night before bed he gets a teaspoon of Xyrtec for his eczema. He even wants to do that all by himself. What 22-month old wants to give himself medicine? So the other night I gave him the syringe and sure enough he put it his mouth and pushed in the plunger like a pro. He’s such an independent boy.

We finally got sand to put into the boys sandbox this weekend. Now they want to play in it every waking moment – they’re having a great time.

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day (you knew that, right?) and I was out cropping until 2am last night and then I got up at 8am this morning and cropped some more. I am dead tired but I know you are on the edge of your seats waiting to read my Weight Watchers update:
I got up extra early yesterday morning to weigh-in before going to scrapbook. I got to Weight Watchers and they were closed due to damage from the tornado we had here Thursday night. I frantically called Travis and had him look up where the next closest meeting was. It was in Mission, about 20 minutes away so I hightailed it over there, weighed in and then turned around and hightailed it to Liberty to meet my friends for a prescrapbooking breakfast. You need to carbo load before you go and crop for 15 hours straight.
I lost a pound, bringing me to a total loss of 5.2 pounds and earning me my first 5 pound star. It was worth driving all the way to Mission to get my little star sticker.

Cash has been after me lately wanting a baby sister. I think it all started when his Sunday school class talked about babies and his friend Jasper’s baby sister visited the class. Today he told me that West is his baby sister. I tried to explain to him that sisters are girls and brothers are boys. He told me that West was his sister and that her name was Elsie. He was so serious; it was really hard not to laugh. I asked him where he got the name Elsie and he said, "At the baby name store." Ah, of course. Silly me.

I’m down another 1.6 pounds, making my total so far 4.2 pounds lost. My goal is 16 pounds so I’m 25% there!

I took West to the ER for the first time on Tuesday. I’m sure we have many, many more visits to look forward to since West possesses the dangerous combination of having no fear and being extremely clumsy. This trip was because he fell off of Cash’s bike, face first onto the garage floor. His front tooth went through his lower lip. It’s not nearly as gross as it sounds. The front of his lip just looks like a scratch – it’s not a gaping hole or anything. He did cry when it happened but not for long. I think he was trying to climb back on Cash’s bike in under five minutes. I called the pediatrician’s office and they said he needed to go to the ER to be evaluated. When I told the phone nurse (a friend of mine who knows West) that he wasn’t even crying at that point, she said, "Welcome to being the mom of boys!"
Luckily the ER isn’t very crowded at 9am on a Tuesday morning and we got right in. The doctor looked at West and said it wasn’t bad enough for stitches. Thank goodness – West was being such a stinker that the doctor said if he would have needed stitches he would’ve had to knock him out. I took this after we got home:

During West’s doctor’s appointment today, the doctor looked up West’s nose and said that he had a lot of yellow boogers up there. On the way home Cash told me, "I have yellow boogers in my nose too Mommy. I changed out all the brown ones for yellow ones so I could smell the yellow flowers."
